COVID-19 Testing Policy for Students

The College’s surveillance testing program is to designed screen asymptomatic students living in residence in an effort to protect students, faculty and staff.  It is mandatory that all residents comply with the College’s COVID-19 testing policy.  Each week, 25% of the residential population will be required to participate in surveillance testing. Over the course of four weeks, all residents will be tested so as to assess the entire residential population.  The College will utilize our selected vendor to administer COVID-19 testing.

Residents are expected to conduct their daily symptom self-screening before arriving for testing. All students are expected to wear a face covering (except at the point of time of the test) and demonstrate social distancing while at the testing site.

Symptomatic residents, those positive for COVID-19, those who have been identified as a close contact, or those who have travelled beyond the immediate region, should not participate in their assigned testing time block as they risk exposing other students and staff to the virus and immediately call Health Services to receive further instructions.

In season athletes, who are in Phase III of the College’s Resocialization of Sport Plan, are required to follow the COVID-19 testing requirements as mandated by the Ramapo College Athletics Department.

Students who fail to adhere to the COVID-19 Testing Policy for Students, may be issued an Interim Suspension and referred to the Office of Student Conduct for disciplinary action.
