Coronavirus Campus Communication 9/20/2020 – Official Message from the Office of the President
Dear Students, Colleagues, and Friends:
Ramapo learned today, September 20, that a member of our College tested positive with COVID-19 (coronavirus) on September 14. This is the first confirmed case of COVID-19 at Ramapo College for the Fall 2020 semester.
The individual is a non-residential student (participating entirely in virtual learning) who has not been on campus this semester.
In line with College protocols and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the student is self-isolating. We wish them a speedy recovery.
Future confirmed cases will be announced and tracked on the College’s COVID-19 website.
As I shared with you in my message of September 9, this virus will persist. We must, however, continue to do all we can to protect ourselves and one another. Compliance thus far on our campus with the health and safety guidelines set forth by the College (social distance, wear a face covering, self-screen, do not gather in large crowds, wash hands, etc.) has been most encouraging. Please, let’s keep it going.
