Coronavirus Campus Communication 7/14/2021 – Official Message from the Office of the President

Dear Students, Colleagues, and Friends:

Over the past several days, I have quickly learned that Roadrunners roll up their sleeves and embrace challenges. So, I am pleased to share that this week Ramapo College seized the opportunity to formally participate in the COVID-19 College Vaccine Challenge! The Challenge, a plan endorsed through the White House and the U.S. Department of Education, seeks to end the pandemic by engaging colleges and universities in community-based vaccination efforts.

Joining this challenge was an easy early decision for me because it built on a series of meaningful actions that have already been taken to advance health, safety, and wellness at our College. These actions include developing a plan to encourage everyone to get vaccinated, organizing awareness of the vaccine, and providing vaccine access to campus and the surrounding community.

On this latter action step, today marked the first of our four planned on-campus COVID-19 vaccination clinics. In partnership with New Bridge Medical Center and with the support of the County of Bergen, we welcomed members of the College and of our surrounding communities to campus today to receive their vaccines. Assisted by our Nursing students, New Bridge staff administered the vaccine to registrants. Our next on-campus clinic is July 20 and additional information is available at https://www.ramapo.edu/health/covid-19-vaccine/clinic/.

Please join me in embracing our participation in the COVID-19 College Vaccine Challenge by doing all you can to spread the word about vaccine availability on our campus. We can do this together.

Meanwhile, be bold, be kind, and be good teammates.

Sincerely,

Cindy Jebb
