Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff:
I am happy that Spring Break Week (March 14 to March 18) is soon upon us and our students can take a much needed respite from the rigors of attending class. Spring Break Week also represents when many of us enjoy time away. Please pause to think about your travel plans and how you will continue to keep yourself, your loved ones, and our community safe from COVID-19. I draw your attention to some suggestions below which provide tips for a safe Spring Break:
Spring Break Travel and Travel Registry
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends delaying travel until you are up to date with your vaccines. The CDC’s domestic and international travel guidance is found here. If you decide to travel, keep in mind the resources which are designed to help you make safe and healthy decisions. The NJ Department of Health has implemented a new webpage, found here, aimed at travel guidance and contains a video promoting 8 Tips for a Safe Spring Break.
The College requires utilization of a Travel Registry to collect information from COVID-19 unvaccinated students, staff, and faculty who are traveling to international or domestic locations. The Travel Registry is also used for vaccinated students, staff, and faculty traveling internationally or traveling via a cruise. Your registry information is used to determine recommended post-travel COVID-19 testing or self-quarantining (if applicable).
Where to Get Tested for COVID-19
Upon a return, you may wish to get tested for COVID-19. If you are showing symptoms of COVID-19, do not come to campus, and please get tested.
Please remember that any person who tests positive for COVID-19 must complete the COVID-19 Reporting Form. I wish you a happy, safe, and restful Spring Break.
Sincerely,
Melissa Van Der Wall
