\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Present:<\/b> Naseem Choudhury (<\/b>President, SSHS<\/span>), Bonnie Blake (<\/b>(Councilor-at-Large over 11, CA), <\/span>Katie Cohen (<\/b>Library), <\/span>Donna Flynn<\/b> (Councilor-at-Large under 11, TAS), <\/span>Scott Frees<\/b> (Vice President, TAS), <\/span>Kim Lorber<\/b> (Secretary), <\/span>Lisa Lutter, <\/b>(CA), T<\/span>hierry Rakotobe-Joel<\/b> (ASB), <\/span>Mihaela Serban<\/b> (SSHS), <\/span>Ed Shannon<\/b> (HGS)<\/span><\/p>\n Guests: President Peter Mercer, Interim-Provost Susan Gaulden<\/b><\/p>\n Vote to bring meeting to order at 10:04am.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n Minutes Approval:<\/b> The 2\/24\/21 minutes will be approved next week.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n FA PRESIDENT\u2019S REPORT<\/b><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Next Year\u2019s Budget: <\/b>President Mercer told Naseem and Scott we are on track to be in better shape next year.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Faculty Handbook Revision: <\/b>The committee has been reconvened and has had its first meeting. Committees have been established and sub-committees may be included. <\/span> Center for Reading and Writing:<\/b> FAEC is advocating for the return of this resource to Academic Affairs by the end of the academic year.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Faculty Assembly:<\/b> General information will be addressed and then faculty and adjuncts will meet.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n PRESIDENT\u2019S REPORT<\/b><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n FY\u201922 Budget:<\/b> We are doing better than many other state schools and are only slightly below our enrollment goals. The increase in graduate applications has made up for the slight drop in undergraduate enrollment. Hopefully, 1,000 students will be able to live on campus.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n New President: <\/b>President Mercer looks forward to the announcement.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Free Tuition: <\/b>Governor Murphy is interested in providing free tuition for the first two college years of income-qualifying students at two and four year colleges. There is concern about the impact this might have on Ramapo, as the State would decide the level of financial compensation allocated to replace the loss in tuition.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n PROVOST\u2019S REPORT<\/b><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Fall 2021 Course Schedule: <\/b>Last semester, one review was conducted before the schedule was made live. A second review is being done this semester to ensure accuracy in delivery modes.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Provost\u2019s Council Policies: <\/b>These are on the Provost\u2019s website and faculty are encouraged to review policies under review.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Minimum Technology Policy: <\/b>Laptop Upcycle will likely move to Ramapo in the Fall. This would allow volunteers on campus to upgrade\/repair tables, laptops, etc. to ensure all students will have some sort of technology as many have been dependent on campus labs.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Covid-19 Positive Students: <\/b>Notify Debra Lukacsko; students should inform her directly.
