Grounded in science, MBSR is the most widely researched mind-body program in the world. Participants in this eight-session Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course will gain a first hand introduction to mindfulness practices involving breathing and gentle body movements and methods for incorporating mindfulness practices into their everyday life and work. This program, which originated at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, has been on the cutting edge of mind/body integration medicine for 30 years. This unique technique helps participants develop an awareness of their bodies and their emotions and facilitates their ability to thoughtfully respond instead of react to situations.
The course is led by Ken Verni, PsyD, and runs Fridays from April 19 to June 14 (No class on May 24th) from 9am-11:30pm in ASB 420. It includes an all-day retreat on Sunday, June 2 from 9am-4pm.
