He began his career in the fire service in 2001 and as been a fire officer since 2007, serving in several volunteer and career capacities for fire and emergency medical services combination departments in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.\u00a0 Evan is the former Fire Chief and current Fire Official for the Old Tappan Fire Department.<\/p>\n Evan is a NJ state certified Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Fire Official\/Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator, and Fire Instructor.\u00a0 He is certified as a Fire Investigation Technician (FIT) through the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) and is a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) through the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI). He also holds the Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) designation from the International Association of Emergency Managers.<\/p>\n Evan brings extensive training to Ramapo College with Technician level certifications in Hazardous Materials, Confined Space Rescue, Swiftwater and Ice Rescue, and as an Incident Safety Officer.\u00a0 He has a Masters degree in Administrative Science with a concentration in Global Security and Terrorism Studies from Fairleigh Dickinson University (Teaneck, NJ) and a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from The College of New Jersey (Ewing, NJ).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n As Fire Marshal, his responsibilities include:<\/p>\n Evan also serves as the Coordinator of Ramapo College EMS and the Staff Advisor for the Ramapo First Responder Club.<\/p>\n |
