Thursday, November 20th<\/sup> at 1pm in SC-138 is a SCOTUS Food Labeling<\/strong> event. As part of Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, this discussion will focus on the 2014 case, POM Wonderful vs. Coca Cola about labeling drinks inaccurately. This event is brought to you by the Civic and Community Engagement Center and Laws Faculty Convening Group and is part of the Supreme Court of the United States Discussion Series. For more information, email\u00a0ccec@ramapo.edu<\/a>. Don\u2019t miss this great CEC opportunity! Later that night at 10 pm, the College Programming Board is kicking<\/em> off a weekend full of fitness fun! Join them for their Karate and Fitness <\/strong>event in Friends Hall. It will be an entertaining and energizing class, for anyone from beginners to experts! And when you\u2019re done with your workout, enjoy some complimentary sushi as a reward!<\/p>\n

Friday, November 21st<\/sup> the Civic and Community Engagement Center will be holding their service trip to House on a Hill<\/strong> in Goshen, NY. \u00a0House on the Hill is a day care center that works specifically with children from immigrant families. Volunteers will work with the children and help the teachers. Transportation is provided!\u00a0If you plan to use your own transportation, please ensure that you arrive on-time, and please email ccec@ramapo.edu indicating that you intend to use your own transportation.\u00a0Students should arrive at the Bradley\u00a0Center bus stop at 8:15 AM\u00a0and get back to Ramapo around 1:00 PM. At 4:15 pm in the afternoon, the CCEC will be organizing another service trip to Extra Mile. Extra Mile<\/strong> is one of the only mobile soup kitchens in Newark that originated with the Newman Catholic Club serving Rutgers Newark, NJIT, Essex County College and UMDNJ.\u00a0Students will make sandwiches for the homeless and then walk a short distance to Penn Station to deliver the prepared bagged lunches. Students are encouraged to talk and interact with the homeless. There are 7 student spots available, and the bus will return to campus at 8 pm at the end of the day. It will be a fun and educational experience you won\u2019t want to miss! That night, the College Programming Board\u2019s fitness weekend continues with their Guts and Glutes Zumba<\/strong> event at 6 pm in Linden Hall. They will be co-sponsoring with Linden Hall\u2019s Luau Event! \u00a0Come and try some traditional Latin dance moves to the beat of your favorite music while you enjoy a luau party! It\u2019s a workout and a dance party all in one!<\/p>\n

Saturday, November 22nd<\/sup> at 9:45 am the Civic and Community Engagement Center will be holding their weekly trip to Teaneck, NJ for tutoring<\/strong>. They will be focusing on subjects such as Math, Language Arts, Social Studies and Arts & Crafts. No experience in tutoring is necessary. This project is great for students seeking CEC credit and for those in the process of receiving their teaching certification! Back on campus at 1 pm, the Women\u2019s and Men\u2019s Basketball teams will compete against Rowan University<\/strong> at 1 pm and 3 pm respectively. Go out and support your fellow Roadrunners! At 7pm, the Civic and Community Engagement Center and Leaders in Service will host one of their biggest events of the year as part of Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week: Night Without a Home<\/strong>. At this overnight poverty simulation participants will watch and discuss presentations, play a few games that will educate on hunger and homelessness, and stay the night in the Alumni Lounges in an experience similar to sleeping like a homeless person would. Tickets for the event must be picked up at Roadrunner Central- free of charge! There will be no admission without a ticket. Minimal food will be provided and cell phones will not be allowed except in extreme cases. Email ccec@ramapo.edu<\/a> for more details! Finally, end your weekend on a relaxing note with some Yoga and Live Music<\/strong> at 10 pm in Friends Hall, brought to you by the College Programming Board. In conjunction with the event will be a canned food drive, where donations will be going to Actions Against Hunger in Bergen County. Prizes will also be raffled off!<\/p>\n
