Can I still apply to be a Corporate Intern?<\/h3>\n<p>No. Each intern must have a corporate sponsor, whether the company plans to provide financial support for the intern\u2019s housing fees or not.<\/p>\n<p>The corporate contact may be informed of any concerns that the College experiences with the intern. The company also agrees to be responsible for certain financial obligations to the College if its intern(s) fail to fulfill their financial obligations to the College.<\/p>\n<p>It is highly unlikely that there will be financial concerns due to rent, as each month\u2019s rent is collected in advance.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>What if I lose the key (or access card) to my apartment?<\/h3>\n<p>Cost details for replacing a key\/card can be viewed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/corpintern\/costinfo\/#s7\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>How do I contact a staff member after hours?<\/h3>\n<p>Public Safety is available 24\/7 and may be reached at 201-684-7432. Public Safety can contact our staff members on duty in the event of a lockout and can help address any emergencies.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Can interns request a different\u00a0date of departure from housing?<\/h3>\n<a id=prorate><\/a>\n<p>Yes.<\/p>\n<p>To adjust the previously agreed-upon check-out date or date of departure, an intern must notify us of the new requested date via email to <a href=\"mailto:corpintern@ramapo.edu\">corpintern@ramapo.edu<\/a>, no later than July 5 (and at least 14 calendar days before the new date of departure), and the intern&#8217;s bill will be adjusted for the adjusted period.<\/p>\n<p>Both the intern and the corporate contact will receive a confirmation notice with the adjusted billing information. However, please note that rent payments that have already been deposited for the current and\/or previous month(s) are not refunded.<\/p>\n<p>We know that it may be difficult to always plan everything well in advance. Therefore, we allow each intern to request a different date of departure (within available dates) before July 5. The $50 processing fee is waived for the initial request.<\/p>\n<p>There will be a $50 processing fee charged to the intern for each additional request and\/or any request submitted after July 5 to change their date of departure, with prorated billing for an earlier date of departure. Please refer to the <a title=\"Timeline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/corpintern\/timeline\/\">Timeline<\/a>\u00a0for the last day that interns are permitted to remain in housing.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Can I move in earlier than the earliest check-in date listed on the timeline?<\/h3>\n<p>Unfortunately, we are unable to alter the initial check-in date for corporate intern housing, as it is indicated on our timeline, due to Spring semester closing procedures, which include housing condition assessment, cleaning, addressing maintenance concerns, and preparing for Summer Session housing, Summer Conferences, and Corporate Intern housing. We are unable to make exceptions to these dates.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>My internship ends after the final check-out date\u00a0indicated on your\u00a0timeline. Can I move out later than the final check-out date?<\/h3>\n<p>Unfortunately, the final check-out date as indicated on our timeline cannot be extended, as we need time to prepare all housing assignments for Ramapo College&#8217;s Fall semester housing. \u00a0We are unable to make exceptions to these dates.<\/p>\n<p>We understand that this may negatively affect some potential and\/or actual Summer corporate intern residents.<\/p>\n<p>Some past corporate interns have communicated that they found alternate lodging nearby after they checked out of housing at Ramapo, because their internships continued long enough to make such plans feasible for them.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Can Ramapo College reimburse me if something happens in my apartment that causes me inconvenience?<\/h3>\n<p>Please review our policy on insurance claims against the College:<\/p>\n<p>Ramapo College is an agency of the State of New Jersey and, as such, is covered by the New Jersey Tort Claims Act NJSA 59:1-1 et. seq., the New Jersey Contractual Liability Act NJSA 59:13.1 et. seq., and the availability of appropriations. The State of New Jersey does not carry public liability insurance, but the liability of the State and the obligation of the State to be responsible for tort claims against its employees and property are covered under the terms and provisions of the New Jersey Tort Claims Act. Ramapo College is represented by the State in legal matters.<\/p>\n<p>Residents are <strong>strongly urged<\/strong> to carry renters\u2019 insurance or be added to their parents\u2019 homeowners&#8217; insurance.
