Ramapo

Cost

Tuition is $950 per module ($3800 for the 4 modules). A nonrefundable application fee of $125 must accompany the application. The total cost of the 2 required books is approximately $150. Parking is plentiful and free with the use of the provided parking pass.

If you have completed the Project Management Boot Camp, the $125 application fee will be waived.

Self-Pay

Tuition Private Loans

The Project Management Certificate is a non-credit program. This means students cannot apply scholarships and financial aid awarded through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to cover the tuition. Students may, however, obtain loans from two private loan sources: Sallie Mae (fixed interest rates) and Wells Fargo (variable interest rate).

Please review both loans to determine which works best for you:
Visit SallieMae’s Website and click “I’m ready to apply” Or  visit Wells Fargo’s Website and  click “Apply Now.”

Sallie Mae often responds same day with “offer/deny” and Wells Fargo takes about 24-48 hours.  Sallie Mae and Wells Fargo may take about 24-48 hours to respond with “offer/deny.”

For your convenience, program payments may be made prior to the start of each module vs. making payment for the full program at one time. Payment must be posted prior to the start of each module in order to attend class. If you have not paid online, you may hand the instructor a check at the first class of each module.

Company Paid

Businesses and organizations support their employees by funding the program via one of two methods: Purchase Order or Reimbursement.

Purchase Order:

Please request a purchase order from your organization. Once approved, have your organization email the completed purchase order to pmp@ramapo.edu or you may attach a scanned copy as part of your online application.

If necessary, purchase orders may be mailed to:

Center for Innovative and Professional Learning
Ramapo College of New Jersey
505 Ramapo Valley Road, Suite A-216
Mahwah, NJ 07430

Your organization will be invoiced for payment prior to the start of your program.

Reimbursement:

Some businesses/organizations require their employees to pay for the program up front from their own resources and submit paperwork at a later date for reimbursement.

For your convenience, program payments may be made prior to the start of each module vs. making payment for the full program at one time. Payment must be posted prior to the start of each module in order to attend class. If you have not paid online, you may hand the instructor a check at the first class of each module.

For reimbursements to occur as you move through the four modules, you will want to request a grade report from the instructor as soon as you have finished the quizzes for each module. Specify whether the business/organization needs a percentage grade or a letter grade, and the minimum grade for full reimbursement.

Because quizzes may be retaken, we will review your grades to be certain you have attained competence before providing you a signed grade report. Students may also request to finish quizzes a little ahead of schedule to accommodate their credit card payment schedule to better coincide with their reimbursement schedule.

NJ One-Stop (WIOA)

Grant Money for Unemployed Persons

You may be eligible for a Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA) grant that covers all costs for the 96-hour Project Management Certification program (tuition, books, and parking). You may be eligible without knowing it! The only way to find out is to talk with a counselor.

How to Get Your Grant:

  1. Make an appointment with your county OneStop counselor. County office locations are found here (after clicking, be sure to scroll down the page).
  2. Visit your county OneStop counselor. Bring these items:
    1. A printed copy of this Ramapo College Project Management web page.
    2. A printed copy of the Ramapo College Project Management program description from NJTOPPS (click here).
    3. Other documents if requested by your OneStop counselor.
  3. Apply for The Project Management Certificate program through the CIPL website (click on “Purchase Order” as method of payment to avoid paying the application fee).
  4. CIPL sends an acceptance letter to your counselor, and copies you.
  5. Your counselor sends a contract to CIPL.
  6. Once approved and registered, you receive an email from CIPL with a parking pass and location information approximately 2 days before class starts.
  7. If you are in doubt about eligibility for the grant, we recommend you apply (it’s free!) to the program. This tends to expedite the process at the OneStop offices.
  8. We participate with all local counties except Essex.

NJ One-Stop (WIOA) 20 Hour

Grant Money for Long-term  Unemployed  Persons

You may be eligible for a Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA) grant that covers all costs for the 320-hour Project Management Certification program (tuition, books, and parking). This eligibility effectively removes the WIOA client requirement to look for work. Students in this program meet the definition of a full-time student as defined by the grant.

It takes 320 hours of diligent work (class and homework of various types) to sit for the PMP exam. The 320-hour program is identical to the 96-hour program in content and required quizzes except the study time environment is tightly monitored to achieve the 20 hours per week requirement.

The classroom time can be at either the Mahwah or Lyndhurst locations, or at both. (Some students choose to attend class twice.) However, the study time must all be completed at the Mahwah campus. Study time is tracked in proctored labs, which either have a live proctor, or are electronically proctored.

The Ramapo College classroom management system (Moodle) defines when the student is within the system, what they are doing, and where they are geolocated on the Mahwah campus. Upon arrival at the Mahwah campus, the student uses one of the many classroom computers (or their own laptop) to log into Moodle.

This effectively proctors the student with an electronic timestamp. The student confirms using the OneStop supplied timesheets as well as login sheets, located in the lab.

How to Get Your Grant:

  1. Make an appointment with your county OneStop counselor. You may be eligible without knowing it! County office locations are found here(after clicking, be sure to scroll down the page).
