Ramapo College emphasizes teaching and individual attention to all students. We promote diversity, inclusiveness, sustainability, student engagement, and community involvement.<\/p>\n<p>Established in 1969, Ramapo College offers bachelor\u2019s degrees in the arts, business, humanities, social sciences and the sciences, as well as in professional studies, which include business, elementary education, nursing and social work. The College also offers articulated programs, including dental, optometry, chiropractic and health professions, as well as visual arts therapy and law, with colleges and institutions in New Jersey and New York.<\/p>\n<p>Undergraduate students may choose to concentrate their studies in one of five schools with more than 1,300 course offerings and more than 42 academic programs. Ramapo College boasts an average student:faculty ratio of 16:1 and an average class size of 21; affording students the opportunity to develop close ties to the College\u2019s exceptional faculty.<\/p>\n<p>The College offers graduate programs leading to degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, Contemporary Instructional Design, Creative Music Technology, Data Science, Educational Leadership, Nursing, Social Work and Special Education.\u00a0 The College now offers a Doctor of Nursing program.<\/p>\n<p>Ramapo College prepares students to be successful leaders for a changing world through its distinctive commitments to hands-on learning and faculty-student mentoring. Mercer Learning Commons, which will open in Fall 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ramapo College has received\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/about\/profile\/accolades\/\">numerous awards and accolades<\/a>. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ramapo College of New Jersey was recently ranked by College Choice as #1 among the nine public NJ colleges and #3 overall in the state. In addition, Ramapo has been named among the top schools in the Best Regional Universities North category in the latest edition of <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">America\u2019s Best Colleges<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> published by the U.S. News &amp; World Report and, for the 13<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> consecutive year, is ranked among the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">100 Best Values in Public Colleges <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by Kiplinger\u2019s Personal Finance magazine, an accolade that only three public institutions in NJ received. Money magazine also ranked Ramapo fifth in the state in their <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Best College for Your Money<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> list.\u201d and leave the rest of this para intact.<\/span>\u00a0The John Templeton Foundation named the College to its Honor Roll for \u201cCharacter-building Colleges,\u201d which recognizes institutions that emphasize character development as an integral aspect of the undergraduate experience.<\/p>\n<p>Ramapo is recognized as a \u201cMilitary Friendly School\u201d by Victory Media in the <em>Guide to Military Friendly Schools<\/em>\u00a0and ranked as one of the nation\u2019s Best Bachelor\u2019s in Social Work by\u00a0<em>College Choice<\/em>. Further, Ramapo is featured on CollegesofDistinction.com, a website dedicated to honoring schools nationwide for their excellence in student-focused higher education. Ramapo also is recognized for its value among liberal arts colleges and for its campus housing.<\/p>\n<p>Ramapo College joins an elite group of institutions with less than five percent of business schools worldwide earning the accreditation distinction of its business degree program by the Board of Directors of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). Additional program-specific accreditations include: the Social Work Program (Council on Social Work Education), the Nursing Program (Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing), and the Teacher Certification Program (approved by the State of New Jersey).\u00a0 <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, Ramapo\u2019s Chemistry Program is approved by the American Chemical Society.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Cindy R. Jebb became the College\u2019s fifth president on March 5, 2021. A Board of Trustees appointed by the Governor of the State governs the College. The chair of the board is Susan A. Accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in 1975. Reaccredited in 1981, 1990, 2000, 2010, 2015 and 2020<\/p>\n<p><em>Social Work<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 The Social Work Program has been accredited by the Council on Social Work Education since 1977, reaccredited in 1987, 1997, 2008 and 2016.<\/p>\n<p><em>Chemistry<\/em> \u2013 <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Chemistry Program is approved by the American Chemical Society (pending reapproval since 2013).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Nursing<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 The Nursing Program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for\u00a0Education in Nursing (ACEN), and was accredited in 2013.<\/p>\n<p><em>Teacher Education<\/em> \u2013 Accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) in 2020 and the Teacher Certification program is approved by the State of New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p><em>Business School<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 In December, 2010, the Anisfield School of Business earned accreditation for its undergraduate business program through AACSB International \u2013 The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. AACSB International accreditation represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools. Achieving AACSB accreditation required a rigorous, standards based, multi-year process that requires the commitment of the entire faculty and staff of the school as well as the on-going support of College administration.
