Managers are responsible for envisioning the organization\u2019s mission and core values, setting the organization\u2019s objectives and practices, and leading people productively and ethically as they interface with stakeholders, systems, and equipment. While these basic functions of management have not changed, the drive and impact of innovation combined with growth of the global economy, information and service sectors, technological transformation, and diversity in the work place are changing how organizations operate. Preparing students to be successful managers in these dynamic times is the Management major and its faculty\u2019s purpose.<span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Calibri;font-size: medium\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>At Ramapo College, the Management major prepares its students to be leaders and innovators. Its students receive an in-depth and comprehensive exposure to management functions, roles, and responsibilities. That exposure is grounded in academic tradition, includes contemporary case analysis and active learning, and builds central practitioner competencies and qualities. Students are rigorously prepared for promising careers in different industries, in private and public sectors, and for advanced academic education. The educational goals and objectives of the Management program are infused throughout its curriculum, and furthered by a dedicated faculty with broad academic and practitioner experience.<\/p>\n<p>The Management program at Ramapo College prioritizes the following for development within its students:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Strategic, contemporary, and synergistic management and leadership perspective and capability.<\/li>\n<li>Creative and innovative thinking, supported by evidence-based analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Ethical and socially responsible action.<\/li>\n<li>Global and multi-cultural understanding and appreciation.<\/li>\n<li>Research, presentation, and interpersonal communication effectiveness.<\/li>\n<li>Conceptual, analytical, critical reasoning, and problem solving competence.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Management program participates in the cooperative education and study abroad programs, and sponsors student clubs and extracurricular activities related to the major. Its students are advised and mentored by the faculty.<\/p>\n<p>The Management program actively supports the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), a United Nations-supported initiative to raise the profile of sustainability in schools around the world, and to equip today&#8217;s business students with the understanding and ability to deliver change tomorrow. The Management program also participates in the cooperative education and study abroad programs, and sponsors student clubs and extracurricular activities related to the major.
