In addition, technical support, tutoring and personal assistance are available in the language lab.\u00a0 The world language lab is an ultra-modern lab where, leading-edge technology allows interactive communications around the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In all our courses, Italian language is used as often as possible. Classes are conducted with an emphasis on oral communication, but writing, reading and the study of grammar are fully incorporated in our methodology. The appropriate sequence of courses enables a student to acquire a degree of fluency in the language and some insight into the diverse cultural aspects of the countries where the language is spoken.<\/p>\n<p>Additional materials are inserted in the general syllabus in order to motivate the students to participate effectively in their language acquisition. Cultural features are conveyed in order to present an authentic image of the language community. Texts, documents and other materials are presented with a global perspective and stimulate honest, critical thinking among students on moral, social, political and economic values. Students are able to enroll in civilization, advanced conversation, cinema, business, or independent study courses.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">The World Language faculty at Ramapo have native fluency in the language they teach and are familiar with the latest language instruction techniques and technology. They are prepared to support their students through demanding but rewarding courses.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"collapsableContent\" tabindex=\"0\"><div class=\"collapsableTitle\"><span class=\"fa-stack\"><i class=\"fa fa-circle fa-stack-2x\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-down fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-up fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><\/span>Outcomes for the Minor<\/div><div class=\"c_content\">\n<p><strong>Goal:<\/strong> Students completing a minor in Italian will have a good knowledge of Italian language, culture and society.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong>Outcome 1:<\/strong> Students will be able to use the Italian language in a variety of real-life situations and contexts, which involve different disciplines and cultural competences.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong>Outcome 2:<\/strong> Students are able to reflect upon the role and importance of Italian Culture for the liberal arts.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"collapsableContent\" tabindex=\"0\"><div class=\"collapsableTitle\"><span class=\"fa-stack\"><i class=\"fa fa-circle fa-stack-2x\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-down fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-up fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><\/span>Requirements of the Minor <\/div><div class=\"c_content\">\n<ol>\n<li>Students are required to take 5 courses (i.e., 20 credits) to complete this minor.<\/li>\n<li>At least half of the courses fulfilling a minor must be distinct from the student\u2019s major. That is, three of the five courses required for a minor cannot be used towards fulfillment of major requirements. A School Core does not need to be completed for a minor.
