The School provides students with a strong educational foundation for a lifetime of learning and for career achievement as responsible contributors and leaders. A student\u2019s intellectual development is of paramount importance and takes place within a supportive learning environment where engaged faculty bridge theory and practice.<\/p>\n<p>In the spring of 2006, the School was renamed the Anisfield School of Business in recognition of the generous gifts of the Anisfield Family. The gifts were used towards the construction of the new academic building and to provide overall support for the business program. The Anisfield School of Business building opened in 2007 and has state-of-the-art classrooms, teaching computer labs and conference facilities. In the fall of 2010, the Global Financial Trading Laboratory opened with real time access to the world\u2019s financial data and electronic trading systems that allow students to gain valuable insight into how financial and economic theories learned in the classroom apply in real financial markets.<\/p>\n<p>The undergraduate business curriculum is designed to provide students with the skills, knowledge, business principles, hands-on experiences, and support vital to understanding and appreciating the economic, social, political, cultural, and technological environment of the global economy. The school\u2019s MBA program prepares working professionals to become ethical and effective leaders in the global economy, able to integrate multiple perspectives into actions that make for a better future for all stakeholders. The Anisfield School of Business prepares students for careers in business and positions of responsibility in both the public and private sectors. Students also receive excellent preparation for pursuing graduate business and law school degrees.<\/p>\n<p>The Anisfield School of Business places strong emphasis on teaching and mentoring. Student learning and development is of paramount importance. Faculty create and apply innovative teaching methods, interact with students in small-sized classes, deliver independent and team learning experiences, and provide ongoing one-on-one academic engagement and advisement.\u00a0 Faculty intellectual contributions are seen as vital in this education process. These contributions include pedagogical research to improve the instructional capabilities of faculty, practitioner research to ensure they are current and relevant in their fields, and discipline-based research to enhance them as scholars. Finally, the faculty contributes to the college and community by sharing their business expertise in private, public, and philanthropic endeavors.<\/p>\n<p>The School\u2019s faculty members hold advanced degrees in their fields, and many bring years of experience at the executive level in large and medium sized businesses. This mix of academic preparation and practical application allows students to see and experience how theory and practice interact in business. Academic advisement, career guidance, and professional development are integrated throughout a student\u2019s years at Ramapo College.<\/p>\n<p>The School offers seven undergraduate majors:\u00a0 B.S. in Accounting,\u00a0 B.A. in Economics, B.S. in Finance, B.S.in Information Technology Management,\u00a0 B.A. in International Business, B.S. in Management, and B.S. in Marketing.\u00a0 \u00a0The school offers minors in Accounting, Economics, Information Technology Management, and International Business as well as a Web Development Certificate and Business Essentials Certificates.\u00a0 The Anisfield School of Business \u00a0offers two graduate programs, the Accelerated MBA for Working Professionals.\u00a0 Details can be found at:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/mba\/\">https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/mba\/<\/a>\u00a0and a 4+1 Masters of Science in Accounting program &#8211; details at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/msac\/\">https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/msac\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>All business majors take the same set of business and professional core courses. Some of the core courses are basic to a business program and lead to competence in accounting, computer information systems, economics, finance, international business, management, marketing, and strategic management. As important as they are, these courses alone do not provide sufficient preparation to deal with the highly complex and often unanticipated forces that can influence personal and business activities. Accordingly, the Anisfield School of Business provides a strong liberal arts and interdisciplinary foundation to broaden the student\u2019s perspective and intellectual abilities.<\/p>\n<p>All students in the School begin their studies with one of two courses:\u00a0 either an integrative course exploring the intersection of business, government, and society, or a course exploring a broader spectrum of social issues.\u00a0 They complete their studies with an integrative capstone course that advances their strategic management competencies.
