Degree from Rutgers-SHRP and Ramapo College, and qualify to declare a minor in Biology.<\/p>\n<h3>Concentrations in:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Cardiac Sonography<\/strong><br \/>\nCardiac Sonographers use ultrasound technology to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. \u00a0Working under the direction of a physician, cardiac sonographers are trained in diagnostic procedures, data analysis and documentation and operation of state of the art equipment..<\/p>\n<p><strong>Diagnostic Medical Sonography<\/strong><br \/>\nSonographers are highly skilled professionals qualified by education to provide patient services using diagnostic techniques under the supervision of a licensed Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy. \u00a0Sonographers are trained in abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological and neonatal neurosonography ultrasound. using the most advanced ultrasound equipment..<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nuclear Medicine Technology<\/strong><br \/>\nNuclear Medicine is a medical specialty that uses radioactive materials for the diagnosis and treatment of disease.\u00a0 They are specifically trained in radiation safety, laboratory techniques, imaging procedures, and the use of highly specialized equipment to assure the efficient daily operation of their facility.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vascular Sonography<\/strong><br \/>\nVascular sonographers use state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment and other forms of non-invasive testing to detect the presence of arterial diseases that can cause stroke, renal failure, gangrene, amputation, and aortic aneurysms and other life-threatening venous diseases that can lead to pulmonary embolism or morbid conditions caused by flood clots, varicose veins, and non-healing ulcerations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0 Application for this program is normally made by January 15 for admission the following fall.\u00a0 Applications received beyond this deadline will be considered if enrollment capacity in the major has not been reached.\u00a0 A minimum GPA of 2.85 is required and a minimum grade of B in both Anatomy and Physiology 1 and 2.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"collapsableContent\" tabindex=\"0\" type=\"button\"><div class=\"collapsableTitle\">Requirements of the Major <\/div>\n<ol>\n<li>Transfer students who have 48 or more credits accepted at the time of transfer are waived from the courses marked with a <strong><strong>(W)<\/strong> <\/strong> below.\u00a0 Waivers only apply to General Education Requirements NOT School Core or Major Requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Double counting between General Education, School Core, and Major may be possible.\u00a0 Check with your advisor to see if any apply.<\/li>\n<li>Writing Intensive Requirement (six courses): \u00a0three writing intensive courses in the general education curriculum are required: First Year Seminar, Critical Reading and Writing, and Readings in the Humanities; the other three courses are taken in the major.<\/li>\n<li>Not all courses are offered each semester. \u00a0Please check the current Schedule of Classes for semester course offerings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h5 align=\"center\"><strong>MEDICAL IMAGING SCIENCE MAJOR<\/strong><\/h5>\n<div class=\"courseTable\">\n<ul>\n<li class=\"majorTableHeading\">Subject &amp; Course # &#8211; Title &amp; Course Description<\/li>\n<li class=\"majorTableSubHeading\">GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS<\/li>\n<li><a id=\"69d1316a3fde5\" href=\"https:\/\/catalog.ramapo.edu\/courses\/INTD101\" target=\"_blank\">INTD 101 -
