Co-directed by Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Rafael Bianciotto and Professor Terra Vandergaw. Banned within a month of its publishing in 1759, Voltaire\u2019s satire, Candide, exposes the futility of war, the folly of utopian \u201cpositivity,\u201d and the often corrupt tyranny of the church and the government. In this original adaptation performed in masks with live music, Commedia dell\u2019arte meets the Enlightenment inviting laughter and reflection on the meaning of life and the pursuit of happiness.<\/p>\n
