Biography<\/h4>\n

Christy E. O\u2019Connor is an artist, curator, and arts advocate.\u00a0 She holds a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Visual Arts from Ramapo College of New Jersey, where she studied studio art, photography, and education.\u00a0 She has participated in professional development programs and studio residencies, including Creative Capital at Artworks (Trenton, NJ) and AlterWork Studio (LIC, NY).\u00a0\u00a0O\u2019Connor is an interdisciplinary artist, whose work examines gender, feminism, cultural and social norms, politics, history and perception.\u00a0 O\u2019Connor works in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, textiles, and performance.\u00a0\u00a0Her work has been exhibited regionally, and is included in several private collections.\u00a0 O\u2019Connor\u2019s artwork has been exhibited at Warren Community College, Artworks (Trenton, NJ) Chashama (Matawan, NJ) Arthouse Productions (Jersey City, NJ), Plaxall Gallery (LIC, NY), and PhilaMoca, (Philadelphia, PA).\u00a0 Her work was featured in Indi Soleil Magazine in January, 2017.\u00a0 Solo exhibitions and installations include\u00a0Dusklit\u00a0<\/em>(2016-2018),\u00a0Treacherous Women\u00a0<\/em>(2018),\u00a0Vacant Memories, Absent Dreams<\/em>\u00a0(2018), and\u00a0Victim Shame, Body Blame <\/em>(2020).\u00a0 Collaborations include Automaton<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Lost Connections<\/em> (2016) and Hallow <\/em>(2018).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Leaning into the Unknown\u00a0<\/em>Performance Summary<\/h4>\n

O\u2019Connor\u2019s work \u201cTea Time in Turbulence\u201d is an examination on class, income inequality, ritualistic practices, and isolation in a world turned upside down. This one-woman satire invites audiences to a lavish tea party while juxtaposing the struggle and strife from newspaper headlines exposing a world in chaos.<\/p>\n
