DESCRIPTION:Decoda is a collective of versatile musicians committed equally to virtuosic performance and audience engagement. For this concert\, a wind sextet will perform excerpts of a new work by composer and Ramapo College music professor Gilad Cohen.  The second half of the program will feature works by Joseph Jones\, Brad Balliett\, Valerie Coleman\, Doug Balliett and Evan Premo. \nGilad Cohen is a composer\, theorist and music educator. With his stand-up bass and smooth vocals Casey has carved out his unique jazz-funk sound. DESCRIPTION:Fantini Futuro is a new audio-visual performance work by Ramapo College professor Ben Neill. The concert will be Neill’s New Jersey premiere performance on his self-designed Mutantrumpet 4.0\, an electro-acoustic instrument that also controls interactive video projections. He will be joined by Ryland Angel\, countertenor\, and Gwendolyn Toth\, on Baroque keyboards. Interestingly\, Girolamo Fantini brought the trumpet indoors from the hunt and the battlefield to the realm of art music.
