{"id":156,"date":"2012-07-17T07:56:18","date_gmt":"2012-07-17T12:56:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/asb\/tradinglab\/news\/"},"modified":"2014-12-11T12:33:27","modified_gmt":"2014-12-11T17:33:27","slug":"news","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/asb\/tradinglab\/news\/","title":{"rendered":"News \/ Events"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"width: 270px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/asb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/9\/2013\/01\/156-0.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"260\" height=\"174\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Seated L to R: Director of Global Financial Trading Lab George Mykytyn, Brian Noll, Kevin Medvecky, Marvin Mensah Standing L to R: Professor Timothy Haase, Brian Malloy, Guido Alonso, Maritza Guananga, Professor Juan Cabrera, Dean Lewis Chakrin<\/p><\/div>\n<h3>Ramapo Finishes in 5th Place in CME Group Commodity Trading Challenge<\/h3>\n<p>The Finance Club at the Anisfield School of Business, with the assistance of Faculty Advisors, Professor Juan Cabrera and Professor Timothy Haase, organized two teams of students that competed in the CME Group Commodity Trading Challenge.\u00a0 There were 85 schools competing, including schools from Australia, Canada, England, Germany, Greece and India.\u00a0The Preliminary Round of the Challenge began on February 16, and concluded on March 3.\u00a0 The top 10% of the competing teams (top 16) with the highest account balance at 5:15pm EST on March 3 advanced to the Championship Round.\u00a0 Ramapo College finished in 13th place, out of 16 teams that advanced to the Final Round.<\/p>\n<p>The Championship Round began on Sunday, March 6 and ended Friday, March 18. Ramapo College of NJ finished in <strong>5th place<\/strong> out of 16 teams that competed in the Championship Round.\u00a0 The final standings were as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rice University<\/li>\n<li>Lund University<\/li>\n<li>California State University Fresno<\/li>\n<li>Clark University<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ramapo College of New Jersey<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Rollins College<\/li>\n<li>Columbia University<\/li>\n<li>Vanderbilt University<\/li>\n<li>University of Bridgeport<\/li>\n<li>Polytechnic Institute of NYU<\/li>\n<li>University of Central Oklahoma<\/li>\n<li>New York University<\/li>\n<li>Boise State University<\/li>\n<li>University of Texas at Dallas<\/li>\n<li>Arizona State University<\/li>\n<li>Ohio State University<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The team members included Maritza Guananga, Brian Noll, Guido Alonso, Kevin Medvecky, Brian Malloy, and Marvin Mensah.<\/p>\n<div class=\"collapsableContent\" tabindex=\"0\"><div class=\"collapsableTitle\"><span class=\"fa-stack\"><i class=\"fa fa-circle fa-stack-2x\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-down fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-up fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><\/span>2010 News &amp; Events<\/div><div class=\"c_content\">\n<h4>Global Financial Markets Trading Laboratory Dedication Ceremony<\/h4>\n<p>A dedication ceremony was held on September 29, 2010, for the Fifth Floor of the Anisfield School of Business, and the Global Financial Markets Trading Laboratory.\u00a0 Anisfield School of Business benefactor Richard Anisfield, and his daughter Nancy Anisfield, joined Board of Trustees members, and President Peter Mercer, in the ceremony.\u00a0 Paul Krugman, Nobel Prize winner and Professor of Economics and International Affairs at Princeton University, joined in the festivities, which included the designation of the Business School as the new home of the Eastern Economic Association.
