NJ One-Stop (WIOA) 20 Hour
Grant Money for Long-term Unemployed Persons
You may be eligible for a Workforce Investment Opportunity Act (WIOA) grant that covers all costs for the 320-hour Project Management Certificate program (tuition, books, and parking). This eligibility effectively removes the WIOA client requirement to look for work. Students in this program meet the definition of a full-time student as defined by the grant.
It takes 320 hours of diligent work (class and homework of various types) to sit for the PMP exam. The 320-hour program is identical to the 96-hour program in content and required quizzes except the study time environment is tightly monitored to achieve the 20 hours per week requirement.
The classroom time can be at either the Mahwah or Lyndhurst locations, or at both. (Some students choose to attend class twice.) However, the study time must all be completed at the Mahwah campus. Study time is tracked in proctored labs, which either have a live proctor or are electronically proctored.
The Ramapo College classroom management system (Moodle) defines when the student is within the system, what they are doing, and where they are geolocated on the Mahwah campus. Upon arrival at the Mahwah campus, the student uses one of the many classroom computers (or their own laptop) to log into Moodle.
This effectively proctors the student with an electronic timestamp. The student confirms using the One-Stop supplied timesheets as well as login sheets, located in the lab.
