There are three forms of student financial aid and an application is required:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grants<\/li>\n<li>Loans<\/li>\n<li>Work\/Study Payments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The package offered to a student is determined by financial need and college year.<\/p>\n<h4>Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)<\/h4>\n<p>Financial Aid is based on your financial need. Financial aid comes in the form of grants, loans and work-study. The first step to receiving financial aid is filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available starting October 1 each year, and new students should submit their FAFSA <strong>no later than May 1\u00a0so that we can send you your financial aid award letter around June 1<\/strong>. <strong>Ramapo\u2019s School Code for the FAFSA is 009344<\/strong>.\u00a0 Please visit the link below.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"btn\" href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Visit the FAFSA Website<\/a><\/p>\n<h4>FAFSA-Tutorial<\/h4>\n<p><em>Seven Easy Steps to the FAFSA: A Student\u2019s Guide to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid<\/em><\/p>\n<p>For a step-by-step visual\u00a0guide on completing\u00a0your FAFSA application, please click on the link below:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Generic Version:<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Zkw463ke8ho\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Zkw463ke8ho<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>IRS Data Retrieval Tutorial:<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/help\/how-use-irs-drt\">https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/help\/how-use-irs-drt<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Spring Students &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong>New or Transfer students need to complete a 2025-2026 FAFSA form.\u00a0 If you have already completed your 2025-2026 FAFSA, please make sure that you log in to add Ramapo College&#8217;s school code (009344). <a href=\"http:\/\/www.studentaid.gov\">FAFSA<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Important Notice for NJ Residents Applying for Financial Aid<\/h3>\n<p><strong>NJ Residents:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the 2025-2026 FAFSA on the web confirmation page, you MUST select the &#8220;optional feature&#8221; link to apply for NJ State based Financial Aid in order to be considered for NJ State Aid (TAG, etc.) from the Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA).<\/p>\n<p>If you did not select the optional feature to apply for State aid on the FAFSA on the web confirmation page, you should go to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hesaa.org\">www.hesaa.org<\/a> 3-5 business days after submitting your FAFSA online.
