Ramapo College\u2019s Academic Achievement Ceremony<\/strong>\u00a0is held every year in May on Arching Day and acknowledges the outstanding academic achievements of our undergraduate students. Each year one student in each school is selected to receive the following award: Outstanding Academic Achievement in a Major; Ramapo Undergraduate Book Prize for Academic Excellence; and Faculty-Student Research Award. Additionally, a single Ramapo student is selected for each of the following special achievement awards: AFT Graduate School Scholarship Award; Henry J. Frundt Memorial Scholarship Award; Herbert Wortreich Award; and the Lee Sennish Prize.<\/p>\n

While students admitted to Ramapo are prepared for the rigors of college, the cohort of students chosen to be honored annually at the Academic Achievement Ceremony stand out for their extraordinary<\/em> achievements. These students are recognized for their specific, as well as more general, intellectual accomplishments, which are detailed in the students\u2019 biographies included in the Ceremony\u2019s program.<\/p>\n

The Office of the Provost would like to recognize the gracious assistance of all whose work makes our acknowledgement of student achievement possible today. We would like to thank the Deans, Program Conveners, and faculty who took the time to assess carefully the contributions of students considered for these awards and prizes. We are especially grateful to the benefactors who contributed monetary awards including the Ramapo Federation of State College Teachers\/ AFT Local 2274 and others. Our greatest appreciation is extended to the students honored today and to the many students whose impressive achievements made the choice of awardees that much more difficult. Our students\u2019 excellent academic achievements and co-curricular activities are the life of Ramapo College.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
