Drawing on his experience performing tango and other popular genres, young Spaniard Jose Franch-Ballester “plays with technical wizardry and tireless enthusiasm,” according to the New York Times.  He has won multiple awards, including the 2004 Young Concert Artists International Audition.

One Touch of Venus dazzled audiences in 1943 with its sweetly sexy book and beguiling score. A statue of the goddess Venus is brought to life and creates comic chaos as she pursues the mild-mannered barber who accidentally animated her -- and is pursued herself by an unscrupulous art enthusiast! The score includes Weill’s immortal love song SPEAK LOW.

Everyone’s favorite naturalist Bill Robinson returns to the Berrie Center with a variety of winged creatures and cold-blooded reptiles in tow, as he teaches about animal adaptations for survival and the important role animals play in the balance of nature. Grades K-12.
