Ethiopia: Development & Globalization (August 2 - August 23, 2012)

This program ties into courses in education, social work, history, political science, environmental science, anthropology and Africana Studies. It provides opportunity for students in these fields to understand their disciplines interests in a global perspective. This program will give students a global perspective and intercultural experience that will enhance their understanding - provide connections and build a network for our students and faculty. Sierra Leone: Public Health in West Africa (May 19 - June 2, 2012)

The purpose of this program is to introduce students to a healthcare environment different from their own, and to approach some cultural implications for healthcare. This program offers an overview of community healthcare in Sierra Leone as well as an introduction to the Sierra Leonean

Argentina: Documentary Photography (May 21 - June 15, 2012)

This class teaches students the practical and creative aspects of documentary photography. Students will learn to develop a photo essay within the framework of a documentary project. Assignments will guide students through some areas of exploration, and by mid-program they will identify their own area of investigation, which will lead towards a self-chosen final project. Students will learn and examine the historical and contemporary critical issues of documentary photography.
