Ramapo Success Story

“I was the first person in my immediate family to go straight to college right out of high school. I knew upon acceptance that I wanted to make the most out of my college experience and really take advantage of the following four years. When it came to choosing a school, I chose Ramapo because it was close to home and affordable. Although I received scholarships from the other schools I applied to, Ramapo made the most sense for me. I was won over by the smaller class sizes, the one-on-one attention and the beautiful campus. In my first year at Ramapo, I decided to “go Greek” and also became a Peer Facilitator. As a sophomore, I became a Resident Assistant for the Village, treasurer of my sorority and peered for my first FYS class. In my junior year, I peered for two FYS classes, became President of my sorority and was the Assistant Resident Director for the Village. All of my accomplishments have given me an extreme sense of pride in myself. Ramapo has provided me with the tools to build myself into an employable individual, a resourceful leader, a successful multitasker, and has instilled Ramapo pride in me.” – Sabryne Serrano ’17 graduated with a degree in Psychology with the Elementary Education program and was a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship. While at Ramapo, she had two internships as a human resources intern and an accounting intern with Doherty Enterprises, Inc.
