| Office of Residence Life Staff |
Linda Diaz - Director of Residence Life: Responsible for the overall management and supervision of the Residence Life department whose mission is to provide a comfortable safe living environment over 3000 residents which supports the College’s academic mission. Directly supervises the eight professionals who supervise the residence halls and is the c0-coordinator of the On -Call Administrators and Emergency On-Call Counselors. She is also the co-coordinator for Residential Emergency Services and is on call for all residential maintenance related emergencies. Linda is the liaison for Residence Life with Public Safety, SEM, AOD, and Judicial Affairs.
Stephanie L. Barlow – Associate Director of Residence Life: Responsible for all housing and dining plan operations. She is also the main Banner contact for Residence Life and she handles all Para- professional payroll related matters. She represents Residence Life at all Open Houses and is responsible for any housing marketing materials. Stephanie serves as the liaison with the Bursar’s office, Admissions, E.O.F, Athletics and other offices which interface with housing administrative matters.
Lisa Gonsisko – Assistant Director of Residence Life: Lisa Gonsisko is the technology liaison as well as the facilities liaison for the entire department of Residence Life. She is also responsible for coordinating the residential aspect of all summer conferences and she supervises the summer conferences staff. Lisa also assists with all residence hall related matters in the absence of the Director.

Shekeitha Jeffries – Assistant for Housing Operations: In the absence of Stephanie Barlow, Shekeitha can respond to all housing operations questions. She directly assists Stephanie with all housing assignments, dining plans, banner reports, student inquiries etc. She is responsible for inputting all housing assignments into Banner and is the one that maintains all incoming housing applications for new and returning residents. Shekeitha also represents Residence Life at all Freshman and Transfer Orientations. She responds to all inquiries that are sent to the Residence Life e-mail address (reslife@ramapo.edu).
Elizabeth Joyce– Assistant for Business Operations: Elizabeth is responsible for monitoring all expenditures and purchasing for Residence Life. She coordinates travel approvals, reimbursements, and the residential newspaper readership program. Elizabeth is also responsible for off-campus transportation for residents including the shuttle and the NYC bus (shuttle@ramapo.edu). She handles summer conference billing, inputs damage billing, and purchases orders and payments to vendors. She also supervises the student aides and the Residence Life package mailroom.
Lynne Koerner –Assistant to the Director of Residence Life & Office Manager: Lynne is the Office Manager and the Assistant to the Director of Residence Life. Her responsibilities include scheduling the Director’s appointments and meetings, coordinating the on-call duty schedule and responding to student and parent inquiries. Lynne responds to the meal plan e-mail address (mealplan@ramapo.edu ) on a regular basis, and is also responsible for inputting all meal plans into Banner.

Residence Directors (RD) and Area Directors (AD) have graduated with both their Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree. Residence Directors are live-in staff who directly supervise the student staff and maintain the daily operations of the traditional style residence hall they are responsible for. Area Directors are also live-in staff and directly supervise Graduate Residence Directors (GRD) while maintaining the daily operations of an apartment style complex.

Kevin McDaniel and Sarah Dwyer - Area Directors:
They supervise Graduate Residence Directors in the two apartment style residence areas and are the professionals responsible for the day to day operations of their assigned residence areas. Area Directors are responsible for such areas as programming, crisis intervention, judicial hearings, budgeting, facilities supervision, and occupancy management for their areas. Area Directors are also responsible for central office projects.
Kamisha Sykes, Michael La Porta, Ian Reynolds, David McGarvey, Anne Greenip, John Atti – Residence Directors (RDs): RDs are Professional Staff members responsible for individual residence areas. They report directly to the Director of Residence Life and are responsible for the overall management of their assigned residential areas. They live in the building/area and supervise the Resident Assistant/Community Assistant staff directly. The Residence Director is responsible for such areas as programming, crisis intervention, judicial hearings, budgeting, facilities supervision, and occupancy management for their particular residence hall. In addition RDs are responsible for coordinating one major department project such as RA/CA selection or RA/CA training.

Graduate Residence Directors have graduated with their Bachelor’s degree and are pursuing their Master’s degree. They are live-in staff who directly supervise the student staff and maintain the daily operations of the residence areas.

Assistant Residence Directors: ARDs are student staff members that are responsible for assisting the GRD and Area/Residence Director with all Facilities related matters. The Assistant Residence Director (ARD) is primarily concerned with the physical operations of the residence hall including the opening and closing of the residence hall, room inventory, damage reporting and office operations.
Senior Resident Assistants: SRA’s are student staff members that are responsible for assisting the Residence Director with services for residents, such as; facilitating, management, programming, discipline, as well as the supervision of a Residence Hall floor/wing.

Assistant Residence Directors (ARDs) Assistant Residence Directors are typically upper-class students who have been hired based on their skills and interests to serve apartment residents. Their primary goals are concerned with the physical operations of the residence area, including the opening and closing of the residence hall, room inventory, damage reporting and office operations.
Senior Resident Assistants (SRA's) SRAs are Undergraduate students who live and work in their assigned residence halls or areas. They are primarily concerned with the physical and programming operations of the residence hall/area including the oversight of RA programming efforts, Health and Safety inspections, and scheduling maintenance.
Resident Assistants / Community Assistants (RAs/CAs) RAs and CAs are typically upper-class students who have been hired based on their skills and interests in serving the resident community. They are trained to help their peers deal with roommate conflict, lead floor, building, and area activities, and to provide educational, social, cultural, and community building programs. They are also there to help residents stay within the guidelines of acceptable behavior as well as perform various other administrative tasks. Resident/Community Assistants are available from their respective hall offices. They are available to distribute recreation equipment, respond to roommate conflicts, answer questions, assist with lockouts, and provide general assistance for resident students. Residence Hall Office hours can be found posted at each hall office.
A Resident Assistant's or Community Assistant's primary goal is to establish a relationship with the residents of his or her area. Resident Assistants and Community Assistants are valuable resources for all residents who need referrals throughout the campus. An RA/CA is the first person with whom residents should talk whenever they have a question or concern. RAs and CAs are directly supervised by a Graduate Residence Director or a Residence Director.
Desk Attendants (DAs) Desk Attendants are located at the entrance of all traditional residence halls. They are student-staff who help the Office of Residence Life maintain communication, security, and a friendly environment in the Residence Halls. The main tasks of Desk Attendants are to assist students and guests of students gain appropriate access to the Residence Halls as well as ensure that all records of persons entering the halls are accurate and up-to date. Student Desk Attendant Managers assist the Coordinators of the Student Desk Attendant Program in training and supervising the student staff throughout the academic year.
OTHER RESIDENCE LIFE STAFF
Additional student staff members who work in the department of Residence Life include Mail Clerks and Office Assistants. Students who are interested in any one of these positions should consult the Residence Life Intranet Website for the availability of open positions and more information on how to apply.

Community Assistant and Resident Assistant Contract (PDF)
The Office of Residence Life is no longer accepting applications for the RA/CA position. Thank you to all our applicants, as we received an overwhelming response! Traditionally, a search process is conducted in each semester, so please keep an eye out for updates. Feel free to review the RA/CA contract to gather further insight into whether this position is a good fit for you! We strongly encourage students to become active members and leaders for the campus community. If a resident, you can gain invaluable experience and skills by joining the RHC or RHA. A great deal of insight may also be gained by simply attending events and speaking with those who currently hold the RA/CA position.
