Queer Peer Services attempts to establish a more diverse, safe environment for students, faculty and staff at Ramapo college. The Queer Peer Services Coordinator provides peer counseling for students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer or questioning (LGBTIQQ), and who are tackling issues and concerns that are of special concern to this population such as coming out, gender identity, homophobia and heterosexism. He is available for one on one counseling during office hours, and also runs a support group for everyone in the community who wishes to come. They also provide resources and information on homosexuality and issues dealing with the LGBTIQQ community for students in need of information for classroom or personal use.

Also, the coordinator brings presentations to a variety of classes dealing with LGBTIQQ issues, and has a repertoire of workshops professors can choose from. These include putting together a panel of students to talk about personal experiences as part of the LGBTIQQ community; an introduction to the queer community through a variety of activities. The Coordinator may also talk on specific subjects having to do with the LGBTIQQ community, such as Gender and the Media, or may talk about specific LGBTIQQ-related events, such as the Day of Silence.
