New Student Information
All new freshmen and new transfer students who will be taking classes at Ramapo College of New Jersey are required to complete and return the Immunization Form (see below).
All new students born on or after January 1, 1957 must submit proof of two immunizations for Measles (Rubeola), one for German Measles (Rubella) and one for Mumps (Parotitis). You will be allowed to register for one semester as per New Jersey Higher Education Immunization requirements but will not be permitted to register for any additional semesters until you have successfully met all of the above immunization requirements.
These immunizations (Measles, German Measles and Mumps) must have been given on or after the first birthday. The two Measles vaccinations must be given at least 28 days apart. If you can not locate proof of these immunizations, you can have blood work done by your primary medical provider to prove immunity to Measles, German Measles and Mumps. You must submit a copy of the laboratory data to Student Health Services in accordance to New Jersey state law (N.J.A.C. 8:57:6.1-6.13)
All full-time students (12 credits or more) must have documentation of 3 Hepatitis vaccinations or a titer indicating immunity.
In addition, if you are planning to reside in College owned housing, you must also submit proof than you have received the meningitis vaccine. Failure to submit this documentation will prohibit you from residing in the college owned housing after your initial semester.
All new students are also required to have a TB (tuberculosis) test no more than 6 months prior to your admission to Ramapo College of New Jersey. You must return to your medical provider within 48 – 72 hours for the reading of this test.

Returning Student Information
If you are a returning student or a readmit student and you submitted your vaccination information in regards to Measles, German Measles (Rubella) and Mumps (Parotitis) to our Student Health Services within the past 10 years, you do not need to submit this information again. Under current New Jersey Law, Student Health Services is required to retain this information for a 10 year period. After 10 years, this information is shredded and discarded. If you are unsure, please contact the Student Health Services Office at (201) 684-7536 and we will check your immunization file to confirm that we have this required information.
However, if you are a returning student who has taken a one semester or more break from your education here at Ramapo College of New Jersey, you are required to have a Tuberculosis (TB) test no more than 6 months prior to your return to Ramapo College of New Jersey.
