What is counseling?

Do you want to feel more up than down? Would you like to feel more confident going to a party with friends? Could you benefit from thinking less about your weight and food? Do you want to prevent your alcohol use from interfering with your ability to go to classes? These are some of the typical concerns that people seek relief from when they go to counseling. If you are struggling with questions like these, you could benefit from talking with a counselor at Counseling Services.

Counseling is a relationship between you and a professionally trained person who has the desire and willingness to help you with your concerns. A counselor will listen objectively and nonjudgmentally and help you explore issues of importance to you. Counseling might also focus on your overall sense of well being, becoming a means by which you can gain greater understanding and acceptance of yourself and enhance your growth as a person.
