Councils/Caucuses/Honorary

Black Student Union:
The Black Student Union is a caucus designed to maintain and promote active communication and interaction between all students and faculty of the African Diaspora including the Organization of African Unity, Students of Caribbean Ancestry, Brothers Making a Difference, Ebony Women for Social Change, Haitian Organization for Progress, Ramapo Operation Link Up, Organization of Latino Unity, and Native African Student Organization and more to follow.

Campus Ministries Council:
The pastoral and spiritual needs of the Ramapo community, especially those of students, are served by clergy and lay staff who maintain offices in the Scott Student Center. Jewish, Muslim, and Christian faiths are represented. Christian denominations served on campus are Roman Catholicism, Evangelical Protestantism, and Anglicanism. Students and others are free to speak with any of the clergy or lay staff in this office regardless of religious affiliation.

Freshman Caucus:
The Freshman Caucus serves as the advocating body to all First year students. They plan events to unify their class and then become the class council after elections. Membership of the caucus includes all students registered as First Year Students.

Media Advisory Board:
The Media Advisory Board consists of the Editors/Managers/Presidents and Advisors for the major media organizations on campus – currently Ramapo News, RCTV, WRPR and Yearbook.  The purpose of this Board is to discuss issues and concerns that are common to such organizations; such as licensing, policies and procedures, technology, etc.  The Media Advisory Board is organized and supervised by the Associate Dean of Students, within the Division of Student Affairs.

Student Leaders Coalition:
The Student Leaders Coalition is a group of student leaders consisting of the SGA president, student trustee, student governor, WRPR station manager, Ramapo News editor, and Class Council representative.  Thee student leaders meet with the College President and the executive administrators of Ramapo College to discuss issues, events and concerns.  The group fosters direct communication between student leaders and the leaders of the institution
