Campus Ministries: Inter Varsity Chistian Fellowship Focus Groups Focus groups are centered around a question. Typically, one or two people begin the discussion with a question. After the question is asked, the members of a group discus the question. Facilitators of the group are not supposed to be included in the discussion other than initially asking a question, they are not there to preach or lecture. The initial question asked can be about anything, preferably a current issue. People are there to express views, not to argue. The main purpose of these is to build relationships and encourage other people to communicate to each other.
