Sharp Sustainability Education Center: The Facilities
Classroom - Currently Ramapo offers a broad array of courses in the environmental studies and environmental science majors, many of which will be taught at the Sustainability Center. Other programs with sustainability-related courses may also schedule the classroom. The room is approximately 700 square feet, to hold up to 34 students.
Administrative Office - This 175 square foot space will include equipment for monitoring energy use and generation throughout the building. In Spring 2010, the New Jersey Higher Education Partnership for Sustainability will relocate to this space.
Display - Glass-enclosed display cases will display collections, student projects, or research projects taking place at the Center. The building design and operation will be part of a permanent display while other information will be featured throughout the year.
Comfort Facilities - Water-saving toilets will be installed with a waterless urinal in the men's room. Each facility will be handicap equipped.
Recycling - A central recycling station will allow for the collection of paper and commingled containers.
