The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education, governs the release of a student’s personal information with respect to their educational records. Students may consent to release this information to family members through the completion of a FERPA waiver. More information about the FERPA Waiver is available online.
