Checklist

This checklist is designed to help you prepare for summer orientation and your first-year at Ramapo. Should you have any questions about this checklist or the Orientation Program, feel free to call or email us at (201) 684 – 7441/ orient@ramapo.edu.

TO-DO LIST for Fall 2022 Enrollment:

Join the Class of 202* Facebook Group and Get familiar with Campus Life, Offices and Resources – Please join the official facebook group based on your anticipated year of graduation.  Simply search Ramapo College Class of 202* on facebook to join! Meet fellow incoming students and interact with student ambassadors and other current students. Also, watch videos and look at pictures and information relating to the college and your upcoming experience on our Virtual Interactive Admitted Student page – www.ramapo.edu/admitted-students 

Financial Aid: Students who have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will receive their College Financing Plan on a rolling basis.  The College Financing Plan will be sent via email and can be found in your admissions portal.  Priority Deadline: March 1st  Contact:  (201) 684-7549 or finaid@ramapo.edu.

Submit Proof of Immunizations/COVID Vaccine: Immunization forms can be downloaded here and must be scanned to the Center for Health and Counseling Services by July 1st, immunize@ramapo.edu. For more information please visit: https://www.ramapo.edu/health/immunization-info/.

Residential Students: Information pertaining to campus residency for Fall 2022 will be sent out to all incoming Transfer Students that have been guaranteed housing (by the Office of Admissions) in early June. This information will be sent to you via your Ramapo e-mail address.  Should you not receive this information, we ask that you please contact our office via e-mail at reslife@ramapo.edu.

Advanced Placement(AP)/International Baccalaureate (IB) Credits: Ramapo College awards transfer credits for students who successfully achieve a 4 or 5 on AP exams and/or a 5 or higher on IB-HL exams. To award credit, students must submit the official score report to the Office of Admissions prior to Fall 2021 enrollment. Testing and Placement: Visit https://www.ramapo.edu/testing/ to register for  testing prior to your orientation date! You can determine if testing is required based on the following:

  • Reading/Essay Placement Test – Students with less than a 620 Evidence Based Reading and Writing score, less than a 26 composite ACT score or have not received college credit must take this test.
  • Math Placement Test – Students with less than a 580 Math score on the new SAT, less than a 26 composite ACT score, or have not received college credit must take this test.
  • Calculus Placement Test – Students majoring in math or any of the natural sciences (such as biology or chemistry, except nursing majors) or anyone interested in taking Pre-Calculus or Calculus I (regardless of major) must take the Calculus Placement Test. Only students who scored a 3, 4 or 5 on the AP Calculus test or have received college credit for Pre-calculus are exempt from this exam.
  • STAMP World Language Testing – Students in the School of Humanities and Global Studies (HGS) are required to complete an intermediate-level world language course. If you have prior knowledge, we recommend you take the placement test prior to Orientation.

Still unsure which test(s) you need? Use this online form to input your SAT/ACT scores and major and receive a list of your applicable placement test(s).  Please contact testing@ramapo.edu with any questions or concerns.

Complete New Student Orientation: Orientation is a multi-step program.  All new students will be required to attend in person event as well as complete their virtual module.  Students will receive an email with further instruction in April and May. Please contact orient@ramapo.edu with any questions or concerns.

Student Accounts: Fall semester bills will be generated and posted to your student account through Web Self Service in mid-July. Bills will not be mailed home. All payment deadline information for each semester can be found on the Student Accounts website.

Parking Permits: All students planning to park on campus are required to display a current and valid parking permit on their vehicle. Beginning August 1st, parking permits can be ordered through https://ramapo.thepermitstore.com/.  Residential students must have their housing assignment before ordering. Commuter students receive a rearview mirror hangtag to allow the registration of two vehicles on one permit, at no additional fee.  Each vehicle must be registered in the student’s permit store account.  Parking permit fees are charged to your student account with other tuition and fees.
