The Black Familial Structure

March 29-30, 2007
Hosted by the Africana Institute, Ramapo College of New Jersey
Mahwah, New Jersey

The Roles of Black Women in the Family  
The Roles of Black Men in the Family
Single Black Men and Working Women Raising Families                                  
The Portrayal of Black Family Life in the Media
Criminalization Issues Impacting Black Family Life
The Roles of Educators in Deconstructing Models of Black Family Life
Alternative Familial Systems

Proposals must not exceed 150 words. Authors should clearly indicate the discipline or type of scholarly work to be examined, the questions to be investigated, the data and methodology to be employed. A cover page should include the title of the presentation, author (s), affiliation, and contact information. Referees must receive proposals by 23 February 2007. Selected papers will be published.
