Business and Financial Outlook Roundtable Will Explore Jobs,
Taxes and the Economy in New Jersey

(Mahwah) - “New Jersey at the Crossroads” will be the topic for a panel of financial experts participating in the 2008 Business and Financial Outlook Roundtable Tuesday, December 4 from 7 – 9 p.m. in Friends Hall (SC-219) on the campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey.  The roundtable is free and open to the public.

The roundtable will feature a distinguished panel of business experts and commentators who will explore how to put New Jersey on a path of sustainable prosperity.  “New Jerseyans are leaving New Jersey in greater numbers than in previous years.  Will this exodus continue?” asks Dr. Murray Sabrin, a professor of finance and executive director of the Center for Business and Public Policy at Ramapo College, who will moderate the discussion.  “If so, what are the implications for the state’s economy?  What should be done to make New Jersey more attractive to families and businesses in the years ahead?”

The panelists will include Joe Donohue, who has covered the New Jersey Statehouse since 1984, first as bureau chief for the Atlantic City Press and now as a reporter for the Star-Ledger; John Galandak, president of the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey; Steven Lonegan, state director for Americans For Prosperity and the mayor of Bogota; and Joseph J. Seneca, professor, Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning & Public Policy, Rutgers University and chairman, New Jersey Council of Economic Advisors.

The Center for Business and Public Policy at Ramapo College provides a nonpartisan forum for the examination of issues that affect the economic well being and quality of life of New Jersey’s citizens.  The Center’s focus is on taxation, health care, education and business regulation.  The Center hosts colloquia, workshops, conferences and other programs, and publishes journals and papers.
