A Tribute to Woody Guthrie in Dance & Music
at Ramapo College
(Mahwah) - “Pastures of Plenty: A Tribute to Woody Guthrie in Dance & Music” will be presented Saturday, December 1 at 8 p.m. in the Sharp Theater on the campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey.
Presented by
Vanaver Caravan, the performance will take the audience on a musical journey punctuated by the rhythms of Appalachian clog dancing, Virginia reels and New England contra dancing, set to Guthrie’s music played on banjo, fiddle and twelve-string guitar.
With songs such as “This Land Is Your Land,” “So Long, It’s Been Good To Know Ya,” and “Hard Travelin',” Guthrie’s legacy is a window into the story of America.
Tickets for Vanaver Caravan’s “Pastures of Plenty” are $26, $23 and $20 for adults and $15 for children under 17. Senior citizens are eligible for a five percent discount. The Sharp Theater is located in the Angelica and Russ Berrie Center for Performing and Visual Arts on the Ramapo College campus. For more information call 201.684.7844.
