Ramapo College Professor and Artist
Authors a Second Edition of Book
(Mahwah) – Judith Peck, Ed.D., an artist and professor of art at Ramapo College of New Jersey, has completed an expanded second edition of her best selling educational book Sculpture as Experience, a guide to help sculptors of all levels explore a range of sculptural media.
"This book serves both the seasoned and aspiring sculptor by exploring a range of media, in turn helping artists find their most expressive medium," says Toni Rahn of Krause Publications, publisher of the book. She explains that America’s appreciation for sculpture is growing and evolving as artists explore the contemporary freedom to use many diverse mediums in their works.
In the book, Peck guides readers to understand the dynamics of sculpture and to actively create in a spectrum of sculptural media. The second edition contains five new chapters with full-color illustrations.
Peck’s sculptural vision and expertise is evidenced in her work in bronze, stone, fiberglass, wood and stone (www.judithpeck.com). Her work has been exhibited in museums and public arenas around the country and is included in over 80 private and public collections. She is the author of three other books on art techniques as well as picture books for children and imagination-enhancing books for parents and teachers. Descriptions of these books can be found on the Web site, www.iapbooks.com.
Sculpture as Experience (ISBN 978-0-89689-453-2) is available from major bookstores, online sellers and from Krause Publications, 800.258.0929 or www.krausebooks.com.
