American Repertory Ballet’s Mix It Up! At Ramapo College

(Mahwah) - The American Repertory Ballet will present Mix It Up! Saturday, May 12 at 8 p.m. in the Sharp Theater.  This New Jersey-based company returns to the Berrie Center for an evening of new works by American Repertory Ballet Director Graham Lustig, Val Caniparoli of the San Francisco Ballet, Harrison McEldowney of Hubbard Street and Susan Shields of the White Oak Dance Project.
The program also will include Twyla Tharp’s Octet, created in 1991 by dancers from the Paris Opera Ballet and New York City Ballet.

Lustig is an award-winning, internationally recognized choreographer and teacher whose ballets have been performed on four continents.  He was named artistic director of the American Repertory Ballet and Princeton Ballet School in June 1999.  He has choreographed works for the Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company in Salt Lake City, the Fort Worth/Dallas Ballet Company, the Washington Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Ballet West and Singapore Dance Theatre, among others.  The American Repertory Ballet is New Jersey’s leading dance company.

Tickets are $24, $20 and $15 for adults, $12 for children under 17, and a five percent discount off regular prices for senior citizens.  The Sharp Theater is located at the Angelica and Russ Berrie Center for Performing and Visual Arts.  For more information call (201) 684 - 7844.
