(Mahwah) - The Ramapo College Foundation’s 2007 Distinguished Citizens Award Dinner, held Saturday, March 3 at the Rockleigh Country Club, raised more than $212,000 for scholarships, programs and research, while honoring four distinguished citizens for their leadership and commitment to higher education: John D. McMahon, President and CEO of Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc.; A.J. Sabath, Chief of Staff to the President of the New Jersey Senate and a 1993 alumnus of Ramapo College; and Lawrence and Theresa Salameno, benefactors of the establishment of the Salameno Spiritual Center at Ramapo. The annual benefit dinner raises funds for student scholarships, College programs and faculty research. “We are grateful and appreciate the contributions and support from this year's honorees, donors and participants. The funds raised through this dinner will help to provide the resources that make the difference in Ramapo's quest for educational excellence,” said Thomas O. McGurn, chairman of the Ramapo College Foundation Board of Governors.
