The concert will take place at the Bandshell beginning at 8 p.m. on the campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey. Styled after Glenn Miller, this orchestra recaptures the feeling of love, laughter and patriotism found in America over six decades ago. Combined with Army uniforms and swing music from the thirties and forties, this “Salute to America” show will keep you dancing all night long. Following the concert, there will be a fireworks display. In case of rain, the fireworks will take place on July 13. Admission is free; parking is $5 per car. In addition to Commerce Bank, the series is sponsored by McBride Enterprises (Urban Farms), Friends of Ramapo and the Ramapo College Alumni Association. Bring your lawn chair, a carload of family and friends, and picnic under the stars. In case of rain, concerts will be held in the Berrie Center. For more information, call 201.684.7611. The Summer Concert Series has been held at Ramapo College since 1987. The series has grown steadily and now attracts approximately 1,000 people per evening. The fireworks concert is the most popular, attracting more than 2,500 patrons from the surrounding area.
