Judith Ivey Will Perform At Ramapo College
(Mahwah) – Two-time Tony Award winner Judith Ivey will perform “Women on Fire,” a one-woman play, on Saturday, October 8 at 8 p.m. in the Sharp Theater on the campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey.
Ivey portrays a dozen passionate women on the brink of self-discovery, each burning with her own personal fire. These comic and dramatic monologues were created by Irene O’Garden, a poet, author and performer. The actress, known for her roles in Hurlyburly on Broadway, television’s Designing Women and the film production of Brighton Beach Memoirs, portrays an ad exec, a Midwest mom, a caregiver and a construction worker, presenting each with passion, fear, self-discovery and, shopping! Ivey explores a variety of women’s issues with sage humor.
“Women on Fire,” starring Ivey, was twice extended Off-Broadway, where it played to sold-out houses. The play was nominated for a Lortel Award for Best Solo Show.
Tickets for Judith Ivey are $25 for adults, $22 for senior citizens and $15 for youth. The Sharp Theater is located at the Angelica and Russ Berrie Center for Performing and Visual Arts on the Ramapo College campus. For more information call 201.684.7844.
