(Mahwah) – Ramapo College of New Jersey will host a
Veterans Recognition Program in the Trustees Pavilion on campus
on Wednesday, May 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ramapo
College will honor those who have either
attended or graduated from the College, members
of the faculty, staff or administration who served in the military
or Volunteer Services to America in both war and peace.
The keynote
speaker for the event is Mark Mancuso, Esq., special counsel
to the general counsel of the Department of Defense. A
lawyer and combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, he advises,
manages and implements special projects for the Office of the

law and international affairs. An expert on global business
and national security issues, Mancuso also provides frequent
on-air national security commentary for leading national and
international news agencies including CBS News, CNN, CNN International,
MSNBC, NPR and Fox News. His commentary has also appeared
in leading publications such as the Christian Science Monitor, USA
Today and The Weekly Standard.
The program
also will feature “Vietnam Memories: Stories
Left at the Wall” read by veterans in the audience and
the presentation of colors by the Air Force ROTC, with participation
from Matt Jefferson, a Ramapo College student. In addition,
comments will be given by representatives of Americorps and
the Peace Corps. Several veterans will offer remarks
and there will be a photo essay of veterans’ experiences
while on active duty. A Hum Vee will be on display to
mark the current conflict in Iraq.
Members
of the College community who are currently serving in the
military or other volunteer service to America will also
be recognized. For
