Ramapo
College Professor Emeritus and Ridgewood Resident Awarded
Prestigious Canadian Award
(Mahwah) – Dr.
Frederic Champlin, dean of the School of Administration
and Business at Ramapo College of New Jersey announced that
Dr. Joseph LeMay, a professor emeritus of international
business at the College, was recognized by the government
of Quebec, Canada for his research on the business environment
in Quebec. “Le Prix du Quebec” is one of the
highest awards for academic research in the
Canadian province.
LeMay
received this honor at the National Assembly Parliamentary
Building in Quebec City. He was recommended by his
colleagues at the biennial Conference of
the American Council for Quebec Studies.
His
research focused on Hydro-Quebec, farmland
preservation, U.S. and Japanese direct
investment in Canada and the business environments
of the smaller cities of Quebec including Trois-Rivieres,
St.-Hyacinthe, Drummondville, The Gatineau-Hull
Region next to Ottawa and Sherbrooke.
Professor
LeMay received a bachelor of arts degree
from Pennsylvania State University, a master’s degree from Georgetown
University and his doctorate from Fordham University. He
resides in Ridgewood.
