A
Musical Journey of the French Horn Presented
at Ramapo College
(Mahwah) – “Out of the Forest and into the Concert
Hall: A Musical Journey of the French Horn” will
be presented Sunday, May 1 at 3 p.m. in the York Room on the
campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey. The performance
is part of the College’s York Room Salon Series.
Lisa Pike
on French horn and Elizabeth Rogers on piano will trace the
development of the horn as it evolved from a tool used in
the hunt to a magnificent instrument for composition. The
works selected for the performance include
Schumann, Dauprat and Amram.
Pike and
Rogers have been performing together for the past fifteen
years. They gave weekly performances for rescue
workers and volunteers at St. Paul’s Chapel at Ground
Zero after 9/11.
Tickets
for “Out of the Forest and into the Concert
Hall” are $10 and include refreshments. The York
Room is located in the Birch Mansion of Ramapo College of New
