Cabaret Will
be Performed at Ramapo College
(Mahwah) – The
theater program of Ramapo College of New
Jersey will present Cabaret April
21 – 22
and April 27 – 30 at 8 p.m. in the Sharp Theater. An
additional performance is scheduled for April 24 at 3 p.m. Terra
Vandergaw, an associate professor of theater at the College,
will direct the production. The public is invited to
attend.
The
Broadway hit, as performed by Ramapo College
students, depicts the seedy glamour of Berlin’s Kit Kat Club and
the tale of the eccentric Sally Bowles. The musical is
set against the eerie backdrop of Germany
in the late 1930s and the gathering storm
of the Holocaust. Cabaret was
written by John Kander and Fred Ebb, who
are credited as having the longest running
music and lyrics partnership in Broadway musical history. The
musical is based on the novel Goodbye
to Berlin written by Christopher Isherwood.
Tickets
for the performance are $10. The Sharp Theater
is located in the Angelica and Russ Berrie Center for Performing
and Visual Arts on the Ramapo College campus. For more
