Ramapo
College Sends Bear Hugs To Needy Children

(Mahwah) – Dr.
William Sanborn Pfeiffer, interim president of Ramapo College of
New Jersey, poses with stuffed bears generously donated by faculty
and staff at the College. The president’s office coordinated
the collection of new stuffed bears and other stuffed animals for
Bear Hugs for the Holidays, a program administered by The Record and Herald
News.
The
College collected just over 100 stuffed animals. In addition,
more than $800 in cash donations will be used by the Bear Hugs
Foundation to purchase bears. The stuffed animals will be
distributed to hospital-bound patients of all ages, underprivileged
children in community day-care centers, children of military personnel
who are serving abroad and troops abroad who use smaller bears
to help befriend local children.
The
campus wide holiday drive included members of the president’s
cabinet. In lieu of gifts to each other, they made contributions
of checks or stuffed bears to Bear Hugs for the Holidays.
