The Ramapo Chorale Presents A Winter Concert

(Mahwah) – The Ramapo Chorale will present “A Winter Concert,” an eclectic mix of jazz, classical, folk and gospel music on Tuesday, December 14 at 8 p.m. in the Sharp Theater on the campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey.  Admission to the performance is free.

The Ramapo Chorale, directed by Barbara Gordon, an assistant professor of vocal music performance at the College, traditionally presents choral works culled from many eras and from different genres.  They will perform “Amazing Grace,” Joseph Haydn’s “Sanctus,” “Blow, Blow, Thou Winter Wind” by contemporary composer John Rutter, Samuel Barber’s “Sure On This Shining Night” and Irving Berlin’s classic, “I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm.”  In addition, Hungarian folksongs will be performed as well as a Bach cantata duet with accompaniment by violin and piano by two of Ramapo College’s voice majors.

The concert will be shared with Voices, Ramapo’s a cappella madrigal ensemble, which will present contemporary and Renaissance madrigals and the favorite jazz ballad, “Embraceable You.”

The Ramapo Chorale also will perform two holiday concerts with legendary singer Judy Collins on December 19 at the Sharp Theater.  The Sharp Theater is located in the Angelica and Russ Berrie Center for Performing and Visual Arts.  For more information, please call 201.684.7844.
