The Enso String Quartet to Perform at Ramapo College
(Mahwah) The Enso String Quartet, one of Americas leading young ensembles, will perform in the Adler Theater on the campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey on Sunday, November 21 at 3 p.m.
The quartet, comprised of musicians from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and New Zealand, confirmed its reputation by winning the 2003 Concert Artists Guild International Competition. In September, they were awarded Second Prize at the 2004 Banff International String Quartet Competition, as well as Pièce de concert Prize for the best performance of Stewart Grants String Quartet No. 2, Banff Variations. The quartet was one of three American quartets among the ten ensembles invited to participate in the finals.
The Enso String Quartet has performed throughout the United States and abroad since its inception in 1999, including featured appearances at music festivals including La Jolla SummerFest and the Great Lakes Music Festival. The ensemble recently made its New York debut at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. They also recorded a segment for the long-running St. Paul Sunday radio show, hosted by Bill McGlaughlin, featuring live performances and interviews, that aired nationally in October.
Tickets are $22 for adults, $19 for senior citizens and $12 for youth. The Adler Theater is located in the Angelica and Russ Berrie Center for the Performing and Visual Arts.
