Economist and Author Thomas J. Dilorenzo is the Guest Speaker at Author Series at Ramapo College
(Mahwah) – Dr. Thomas DiLorenzo, author of The Real Lincoln, is the featured speaker on Tuesday, October 26 from 6 – 8 p.m. in the second of several Author Series talks presented by the Center for Business and Public Policy and the Ramapo College Business Network. His presentation, “The Real Lincoln: A New Look at Abraham Lincoln, His Agenda, and an Unnecessary War,” discusses how the Lincoln administration’s policies during the Civil War are relevant today. The event will be held in Friends Hall, room SC-219, on the College campus. Registration for DiLorenzo’s talk will be accepted through October 20.
The author talk will be moderated by Dr. Murray Sabrin, executive director of the Center for Business and Public Policy. DiLorenzo is professor of economics in the Sellinger School of Business and Management at Loyola College in Maryland. He is the author or co-author of 13 books, including The Real Lincoln, which Barron’s magazine labeled as its “top pick” of recommended books for 2002. His latest book is How Capitalism Saved America, published by Crown Forum/Random House.
He is also the author of more than 75 articles in academic economic journals, including the American Economic Review, Economic Inquiry, Southern Economic Journal and Journal of Labor Research, among others. The economist has appeared on radio talks shows, including the “Rush Limbaugh Show,” and on CNBC, Fox News Channel, CSPAN, CNN and numerous local network affiliates. He is a member of the senior faculty of the Mises Institute in Auburn Alabama, a columnist for the Web site LewRockwell.com and a member of the Mont Pelerin Society.
